Employment Rights Act 2025

What is in force, and what is coming

A plain-English summary of the Employment Rights Act 2025 changes that affect employers in England, each with the legislation that brought it into force. It is a summary for advisers, not legal advice.

Built from Complian's verified rule set. Legislation text checked against legislation.gov.uk on 4 October 2026.

Where a change amends an older Act, Complian cites the provision as amended (for example the Employment Rights Act 1996), names the Employment Rights Act 2025 section that amended it, and quotes the commencement regulation that set the date.
